What is the Alliance for Retired Americans?

The Alliance for Retired Americans is a nationwide grassroots organization that advocates on behalf of America’s seniors. Founded in May 2001, the Alliance has more than 3 million members nationwide. Our mission is to advance public policy that protects and preserves programs important to the health and economic security of older Americans. Our goal is to educate, energize and mobilize seniors to make a difference through activism. For more information, visit our website at www.retiredamericans.org.

How Can I Tell My Story Through the Retiree Roadrunner Video Project?

At every stop, the Retiree Roadrunner will be collecting video testimonials for the Alliance for Retired Americans' project, "My Story, My Vote." Through this project, we will capture and record stories from across the country, and use your stories to give a human face to the policy issues we work on. Our stories are a central part of changing this country and standing up for seniors.  Our ability to share our stories is what makes us different and is our strongest advocacy tool.  To carry out our work, we need to be able to offer compelling and real stories on the values we seek to protect and improve.

With your permission, we hope to use these stories on our website, in the press, and deliver them to appropriate congressional offices.  This video library helps us identify retiree activists to serve as powerful and effective spokespersons for our campaign to improve the quality of life for current – and future – retirees. If you are unable to visit the Retiree Roadrunner in person, please write to us and we’ll help you find a good way to get your story in front of the right people.

I Am Having Problems Voting - Can the Retiree Roadrunner Help?

The Retiree Roadrunner is working with the non-partisan organization Election Protection to ensure every retiree has the opportunity to vote. You can call their toll-free hotline 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683) with questions about when, where, or how to vote, and a trained volunteer will guide you through the process.
